ECU remapping is the software behind both our Performance and Economy tunes. Here's what it actually changes, what else it can switch on or off, and which path suits how you drive.
The factory setting is a compromise, not a limit
Every engine's ECU (Engine Control Unit) runs on a set of maps — tables of values that decide exactly how much fuel to inject, how much boost to allow, and when to fire the spark or injectors, in every driving condition.
Factory maps are written to work safely across dozens of markets, fuel qualities and climates, which means they're deliberately conservative. Remapping rewrites those maps specifically for your engine, your fuel and how you actually drive it.
Nothing physical changes inside the engine. Every original map is backed up first, so the remap is fully reversible if you ever need the car back to standard.

Speed Limiter Disable
Removes the factory-set top speed limiter for track and private road use. Covered in full on our Performance Tuning page.
Popcorn / Pops & Bangs
Aggressive overrun crackle and pop tuned into the exhaust note on throttle lift-off. Covered in full on our Performance Tuning page.
Intake Manifold Flap Disable
A common fix on diesels where the swirl flap mechanism is prone to wear and, in worst cases, physically breaking apart inside the intake.
Exhaust Flap Disable
Holds an electronic exhaust valve in a fixed position for a more consistent tone, rather than switching between quiet and sport modes.
Active Grille Shutter Disable
Addresses a known failure point on some models where the shutter motor or linkage sticks or fails, triggering warnings or cooling issues.
Start Stop Disable
Switches off automatic engine stop-start at traffic lights and junctions for a smoother, more immediate pull-away.
Sport Displays
Activates factory-fitted sport dash layouts and readouts — boost, torque and g-force displays — where the hardware already supports it.
Oil Fix (VW/Audi)
A known software adjustment for the oil consumption issues affecting certain VW Group engines, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
